I have been in the fundraising industry for nearly 6 years now, starting with fundraising in 2017. I had never had a job that gave me so many transferable skills; coming from a labouring background, it really took me out of my comfort zone and took me a while to really get the hang of it. But I had great managers who really believed I had the skills to do it and pushed me to be the best I could be. It was one of the best career changes I have made.

During my time fundraising, I have met some of the most incredible people, from cancer survivors to friendships that I’ve created for life.

I made the move to SMILE in 2021 as a welcome caller. I knew that this was a company that would support me in my future career, so when an opportunity for a national recruiter came up, I jumped at the chance.

Being a recruiter is so fulfilling; I love speaking to people and giving them the same opportunity that I had in the fundraising industry. I love seeing people achieve and reach their goals, and I take great pride in giving people new opportunities.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, raising my son, and making memories.
